Privacy notice
Last updated 4 August 2026
This notice explains what SEVRAINE ATELIER LTD ("SEVRAINE", "we") does with personal data collected through this website, through consultation enquiries and in the course of a commission. We are the data controller for that information.
What we collect
- Enquiry details. Name, email address, telephone number, wedding date and anything you choose to write in an enquiry.
- Fitting records. Measurements, fitting notes and alteration history for anyone who places an order. These are held on paper in the workroom and in a scheduling system used only by the fitting room team.
- Order and payment records. Deposit and balance records, cloth orders placed in the name of a commission, and invoices. Card details are handled by our payment provider and are not stored by us.
- Website data. Server logs recording IP address, page requested, referring page and timestamp.
Why we hold it
Enquiry details are used to answer the enquiry and to offer appointment times. Fitting records exist because a made-to-order gown cannot be cut without them, and because alterations two years later still need the original measurements. Order records are kept to meet accounting obligations. Server logs are kept for security and to diagnose faults.
Legal bases
We rely on legitimate interests for answering enquiries and for running the website securely; on contract for everything connected with an order; and on legal obligation for accounting records.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not lead to an appointment: 12 months.
- Fitting records and measurements: 6 years after collection of the gown, so that later alterations remain possible.
- Financial records: 6 years after the end of the accounting period, as required by UK law.
- Server logs: 90 days.
Who else sees it
Our website host, our email provider, our scheduling software provider and our accountants act as processors under written contract. Cloth mills receive a commission reference and quantities, never a wearer's name or measurements. We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for advertising.
Your rights
You may ask for a copy of the data we hold, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it where we have no ongoing obligation to keep it, object to processing based on legitimate interests, or ask for your data in a portable format. Write to [email protected] and we will respond within one month.
Complaints
If you are not satisfied with our response you may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF.
